A new mid-range 5G smartphone by ZTE that has an 8012N model number has been approved by China’s TENAA telecom authority. While the identity of the phone is under wraps, it is likely that this device could be arriving in China as the next Blade series smartphone. The TENAA listing has revealed its images and specifications

The ZTE 8012N images at TENAA shows that it has a teardrop notch display. The right side of the phone is flanked with buttons for controlling volume and power. The backside of the device has curved edges and being a budget phone, it seems to be equipped with a polycarbonate rear. A traditional fingerprint scanner and a rectangle-camera module that houses three cameras and an LED flash can be seen on the backside of the phone. Appearance-wise, it resembles the ZTE Blade A7s 2020 (model number ZTE 8010) smartphone.

ZTE 8012N specifications

The ZTE 8012N’s screen size is not mentioned in the TENAA listing. The handset measures 165.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm and it weighs 188 grams. The device is equipped with a 3,900mAh rated capacity battery. It appears that there is no support for fast charging on the phone.

An octa-core processor that clocks at 2GHz is present under the hood of the ZTE 8012N. It will be coming to Chinese markets in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM choices and storage options like 64 GB and 128 GB. There is a microSD card slot onboard for extra storage.

The ZTE 8012N is preinstalled with Android 10 OS. The phone features a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. The rear-facing camera setup includes a 48-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel secondary lens, and the third camera of 2-megapixel. In China, the ZTE 8012N could be made available in colors like dark blue, blue gradient, and pink gradient.

In terms of specs too, the ZTE 8012N is similar to the Blade A7s 2020. What sets the two devices apart is that the 8012N is a 5G device and it has a 48-megapixel main camera, whereas the Blade A7s 2020 is a 4G phone with a 16-megapixel primary camera. The other specs on both phones appear to be identical.
