Xiaomi has been tightening its grip in the Smart TV market and has been steadily posting impressive numbers. In line with that, a report coming from China claims that the company is now expected to ship over 14 million units of its Smart TV this year.

The estimated number of shipments indicates an increase of 1 million units compared to last year. While the company had set a target of shipping 16 million units of Smart TVs this year, it has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks to the number of shipments expected, the sale of Xiaomi TV will also benefit its vendors, including the likes of MediaTek and Ruixuan. Recently, it was reported that the company was the leading Smart TV vendor in China in H1 2020.

Xiaomi was ranked as the leading company in the Chinese market for the year 2019 in terms of Smart TV shipments and sales volume, beating established TV manufacturers such as Skyworth, Hisense, and TCL.
