Xiaomi launched the Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition in China. Although it doesn’t differ much from the Mi 10T, it is much cheaper($100 cheaper than India) in China. Also, Xiaomi announced a special price and sale as an 11.11 special offer. And as a result, it has sold about 100,000 units in 1 minute.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Weibo account has shared an official poster(via MyDrivers) that says the first sale clocked 100,000 units sold in one minute. However, a small-sized text below the poster says the sale detail includes all the platforms like JD.com, Tmall, and Suning. The number is calculated from November 1, 2020, at 10:00 to 10:01 AM China time. As said, the device went on first sale today morning at 10 AM local time.
With the Double-Eleven Sales kick-starting today(1.11), K30S Commemorative Edition got a special discount of 300 yuan($45). For the unware, Double-Eleven sales is a promotional event for celebrating Singles Day(11.11) in China. Originally the device is priced at 2,599 yuan($388). So that makes the device start at a discounted new price of 2,299 yuan($344). Other offers include 6-month interest-free periods(EMI). At this price, it is currently the cheapest Snapdragon 865 SoC smartphone.
That said, the company thanked everyone for a great response to the first sale. However, the sale figures reportedly could have been much brighter if it wasn’t for the pandemic situation.
Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition Specifications
The device features a 6.67-inch display supports a Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR10+, MEMC, 650nits brightness, and up to 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with up to 8 GB of LPPDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For optics, it has a 64MP Sony IMX682 main lens, 13MP ultra-wide with 123-degree FOV, and 5MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 20MP shooter.
Other features include a 33W fast charger, 5,000mAh battery, dual SIM, 5G / 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and dual-linear stereo speakers. The device also has an AI face-unlock, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD slot. It runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box.
