Huawei‘s smartphone business is presently experiencing some challenges due to the US ban which prevents the company from accessing ICs from TSMC and other suppliers. The company is also grappling with a ban by Google which gave birth to its proprietary HarmonyOS (HongmengOS). In the absence of components for its smartphones, the tech giant seems to have shifted focus on building its ecosystem. The Huawei Smart Doorbell Pro is capable of performing one-key calling and owners can communicate with the doorbell remotely through a mobile phone. It also records whenever a visitor calls at the door even when you are away. The doorbell can be paired with the Huawei Smart Screen such that when you are watching TV in the bedroom and a visitor presses the doorbell, the video of the visitor pops up on the screen. Furthermore, the Smart Doorbell Pro also comes with a voice change intercom function suitable for girls living alone. Thus, at night you can check if there is any recording of someone loitering at the front before going out.

In terms of hardware, the Huawei Smart Doorbell Pro is equipped with 32 ring fill lights which can provide a 24-hour full-color picture. The camera also comes with a 165-degree ultra-wide viewing angle. The smart doorbell packs mammoth 6500mAh built-in battery that can last for up to 8-months. The gadget can also be paired with a smartphone via the Smart Life App. The app can be used to perform actions such as WeChat active push alarm information, abnormal alarm, anti-dismantle alarm, quick voice response, sending video and other functions.

The Huawei Smart Doorbell Pro is expected to be available in December, priced at 599 yuan (~$90). It will be sold in malls and major authorized e-commerce platforms.
