The Sony Xperia 5 II (read as Xperia 5 Mark II) launched in September as the Japanese manufacturer’s second flagship phone of the year. The phone comes in a variety of colors, some of which are exclusive to certain regions.

It has been reported that Sony has announced a purple variant of the phone which can only be purchased from the Japanese carrier, Docomo. The new color variant will go on sale on November 12 but reservations are already being accepted.

According to Docomo’s website, this purple variant will be limited to online shops only, so you won’t find it if you go to purchase it at a physical store.

The Sony Xperia 5 II also comes in Black, Blue, Gray, and Pink. Unlike other countries where it has 256GB of storage, Sony is selling the phone in its home country with 128GB of storage. However, a MicroSD card slot that also doubles as a second SIM slot will allow users to add more storage.

The rest of the specs of the phone are a 6.1-inch 120Hz OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and bezels rather than notches or hole punches. There is also a Snapdragon 865 processor inside along with 8GB of RAM. The phone also has triple 12MP rear cameras with OIS on the main and the telephoto cameras and a 124° viewing angle for the ultrawide angle camera. There is also an 8MP selfie camera with 5-axis gyro-EIS.

The Xperia 5 II has stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, and a 4000mAh battery with support for 21W fast charging and Power Delivery 3.0,  though Sony ships it with an 18W charger. It runs Android 10 out of the box but will get three OS upgrades.
