A few days ago, Xiaomi had launched its new Mi Box 4S Pro with upgraded video decoding capabilities and bigger storage support. After being made available for reservation on 5th November, the device officially goes on sale in China today for a price of 399 yuan, which is approximately $60.

The newly launched Mi Box 4S Pro comes with support for 8K video decoding, which is an upgrade compared to support for 4K decoding in the previous model. Apart from that, the HDMI interface has also been upgraded to HDMI 2.1.

Despite several upgrades on the device, its design remains the same as the Mi Box 4S. Internally, the storage capacity has now been increased from 8GB to 16GB, allowing users to store more data. This newly announced device also comes with support for DTS and Dolby Audio for an immersive sound experience.

It is expected to be powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic S905X chipset with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores and Mali 450 GPU, coupled with 2GB of RAM. As for connectivity, it features support for dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.3, a USB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a power input port. In the software department, it runs MIUI for TV, which is based on Android.
