As wireless charging gets more popular, we have seen manufacturers include charging coils in products that usually wouldn’t have one such as Bluetooth speakers, desk lamps, and even laptop trackpads. Timex, the popular watch manufacturer has joined the trend with an alarm clock that doubles as a wireless charger.
With the average home having one smartphone, a smart display, and or smart speakers, alarm clocks should not be a thing anymore. Nevertheless, we won’t judge you if still use one. And if you are planning to pick up a new one or get one for a friend, then you should be on the lookout for this one from Timex that also has a wireless charging could at the top so you can wirelessly charge your phone while you sleep.
The Timex Alarm Clock with Wireless Charging was certified by the Wireless Power Consortium a few days ago. The alarm clock has a red LED display and a qi wireless charger built into it. From the image provided by the WPC, users can set two different alarms on the clock. It comes in black and has a handful of physical buttons at the top, right next to where the wireless charging coil is positioned.
This is not Timex’s first alarm clock with support for Qi wireless charging. There is one that not only has a wireless charging coil but also has a speaker and a USB port for charging a second device.
We do not know when this alarm clock will launch but we are pretty sure there won’t be much fanfare, if any at all, when it is announced.
