vivo recently unveiled the vivo Y31s as the world’s first Snapdragon 480 5G smartphone. Now, its sister OPPO seems to be working on a device with the same SoC. An OPPO smartphone has now appeared on Geekbench and it could be the company’s next affordable 5G device.

An OPPO smartphone with model number PEHT00 appears on the Geekbench database. For starters, this isn’t a new device. A device with the same model number has already cleared China’s 3C certification. It showed that the device had ‘5G support’ and a charging speed up to 18W.

Anyway, the Geekbench shows that the same PEHT00 device runs on a motherboard codenamed ‘holi’. If we recall, this is the codename of the recently launched Snapdragon 480 chipset whose part number is SM4350. This is further confirmed by the code snippet of the Geekbench listing webpage which shows that it has Adreno 619 GPU.

The device in testing scores 522 and 1,513 on Single and Multi-core Scores respectively. Apart from this, the Geekbench also reveals that the OPPO’s device runs 8GB RAM, Android 11 OS. In contrast, if you look at the vivo Y31s it has only a single 6GB RAM variant.

That said, we don’t have any other info as to when OPPO will launch it or it’s price and other specs. However, we can guess that OPPO might debut it somewhere inside the A-series considering it has a lower charging support.

And the ‘PE’ in the model number suggests that it will land first in China before making it to the other markets. Either way, let’s hope that more d details of the device gets leaked in the coming days.
