Earlier today (16th February 2021), the Vice President of Xiaomi Corp and Redmi‘s General Manager Lu Weibing announced that the company would be focusing more on launching a wider range of smart home products this year.
The senior executive of the company made the announcement on his official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. In this Weibo post, the official stated that in 2021, the Chinese tech giant will be focusing more on bringing a wider range of smart home products to the market, especially in its home country of China. At the moment, the company already has a varied range of smart home products in the market, but it seems like Xiaomi aims to further expands its IoT (internet of things) portfolio this year.
In other words, the smartphone manufacturer will be launching various interconnected household appliances along with other smart electronic products as well. Unfortunately, we do not have any finer details regarding what the company is actually planning at the moment. But we can expect various launches to arrive later this year.
