Yesterday, Redmi held a launch event in China to announce the Redmi K40 series. The Snapdragon 870 powered Redmi K40 phone with M2012K11AC was announce with an enticing starting price tag of 1,999 Yuan (~$309). A variant of the same device with model number M2012K11AG was approved as a POCO phone back in December 2020. Hence, the Redmi K40 speculated to get rebranded as a POCO phone in some markets. The M2012K11AG has bagged multiple certifications in recent weeks. Now, it has appeared in the database of Indonesia Telecom database.

The Indonesia Telecom listing of the M2012K11AG has no information on its specs. Previously, the handset has been spotted at certification platforms like Singapore’s IMDA, Indonesia and TKDN.

The M2012K11AG was also seen as a POCO device at the TUV Rheinland certification. The Indian variant of the device with M2012K11AI model number received BIS approval earlier this month. It is likely that the Redmi K40 may get rebranded as an F-series flagship phone by the POCO brand. It remains to be seen whether the device arrives as the POCO F2 or POCO F3.
