India is an important market for a lot of technology companies, so it is no surprise that it is usually one of the early destinations when a company is expanding to new markets. The latest company to extend its roots in the country is Carl Pei’s Nothing and this week, it appointed who will head its Indian division.
The new appointee is Manu Sharman, an ex-Samsung VP. Mr. Sharma will take on the role of General Manager of Nothing India according to a report by the Times of India. He will also hold the title of Vice President of the company. Prior to his move to Nothing, he was the head of product strategy at Samsung up until December 2020.
Carl Pei is reported to have said that Mr. Sharma’s track record and experience will play a pivotal role in Nothing’s growth in India. His responsibilities will include setting up the India office, overseeing the region’s product strategy, marketing, and sales.
Thanks Carl @getpeid. Excited to be part of Nothing’s journey. Your vision is inspiring and I am confident that Nothing will have a meaningful impact on the consumer technology market in India and around the world. #nothing @nothing https://t.co/8xVV2lHFAy

Nothing has announced that it will launch its first product, a pair of earbuds, this summer. Following the appointment, we can expect it and future Nothing products to launch in India. However, it remains to be seen if these products will be locally made or imported into the country.
