Last week, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 surfaced on Geekbench with AMD Ryzen 5 CPU. Now, Roland Quandt, through a Winfuture.de report, has revealed the entire specs of the upcoming laptop.

The report says that Microsoft is eyeing to launch the Surface Laptop 4 in April 2021 i.e, next month. As per the info available from the dealers, the company will continue to sell the AMD and Intel versions of the laptop.

However, the design of the laptop is likely to be unchanged(mostly like Surface Laptop 3). If the report is true, we could see very few changes on the outside while the majority of the upgrade should be inside. Speaking of which, just like before, the AMD version of the laptop is said to be known as the ‘Surface Edition’ chips.

You can look at the specs below:

Custom-made AMD ‘Surface Edition’ and Intel 11th-gen chips

That is, Microsoft is opting for an AMD Ryzen 5 4680U and AMD Ryzen 7 4980U CPUs where the former is for the base model and the latter for the top-end variants. This goes in line with the earlier Geekbench that showed ‘renoir’ meaning the laptop will have custom-made APU(Zen 2 architecture) and Vega GPU on the AMD versions.

These are said to be built on the 7nm process and should have a TDP(Thermal Design Power) of 15W. The laptop version having both these CPUs is said to come with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage.

The intel version, however, will have the latest 11th-gen Tiger lake CPUs Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7. Interestingly, Microsoft will give the users to fuse the 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD only with intel versions of the Surface Laptop 4.

That said, we can expect both the AMD and Intel models to be available in 13.5-inch and 15-inch variants as mentioned above. Other common features include Windows Hello, Surface Pen and Dial compatibility, ambient light sensor.

Microsoft launched the predecessor at a starting price of $999 for the 13-inch variant. And we can expect similar if not lower with the 2021 edition.
