The Galaxy S20 FE was arguably one of the best smartphones released in 2020. Samsung debuted its second-ever Fan Edition phone in both 4G and 5G versions with different SoCs. Now, months after their launch, a new upcoming model of this handset appears on WiFi Alliance.

For those unaware, Samsung sells two different Galaxy S20 FE smartphones across the world. The one with 5G connectivity called Galaxy S20 FE 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. On the other hand, the 4G-only model called Galaxy S20 FE is powered by the company’s in-house Exynos 990 SoC.

It has been over five months since these handsets hit the market. In fact, details regarding their successor (Galaxy S21 FE) have begun to pop up on the internet. Hence, it is surprising to know that the South Korean tech giant is set to release a new variant of Galaxy S20 FE, as per the WiFi Alliance certifications spotted by SamMobile.

According to these certifications, the forthcoming Galaxy S20 FE phone will come with three model numbers, namely SM-G780G, SM-G780G/DS, and SM-G780G/DSM. Going by the model numbers, it is certain that this device will be available in both single and dual-SIM variants.

Unfortunately, the WiFi Alliance certifications do not reveal anything else about this smartphone except for the fact that it will debut with Android 11 (One UI 3.x) out of the box. Hence, the new version of Galaxy S20 FE could receive up to Android 14, as per the company’s update policy.
