Design

If we consider the standard editions of these devices, the Xiaomi Mi 11 looks more attractive because of its curved screen, as well as a higher screen-to-body ratio and a more original glass back. It also provides a great build quality with the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display, while the rear glass is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. On the other hand, the Realme GT 5G is more compact, so easier to use with one hand, and more comfortable to keep in a pocket. Both Xiaomi Mi 11 and Realme GT 5G come in special leather variants.

Display

The Xiaomi Mi 11 has a better display if compared to the Realme GT 5G. It is an AMOLED panel able to show up to one billion colors, with the HDR10+ certification and a peak brightness of 1500 nits. Further, it comes with a higher Quad HD+ resolution with 1440 x 3200 pixels. The Realme GT 5G still offers a very nice display with AMOLED technology and a 120 Hz refresh rate, but there is no way for it to compete with the Xiaomi Mi 11 in terms of image quality.

Specs & Software

With the Xiaomi Mi 11 and the Realme GT 5G, you get the same hardware department. It is composed of a Snapdragon 888 mobile platform which is actually the best Qualcomm chip, up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The performances provided by these devices are very similar and both are flagship-class when it comes to the hardware. The phones run Android 11 customized by MIUI and Realme UI, respectively. They do not support expandable storage, but they have 5G and a dual SIM slot.

Camera

The Xiaomi Mi 11 wins the comparison even when it comes to the camera department. It has a way better 108 MP main camera with OIS, supported by a 13 MP ultrawide sensor and a 5 MP macro camera. The Xiaomi Mi 11 is able to record videos with an 8K resolution. The Realme GT 5G lacks OIS and it has an inferior 64 MP main camera. Its secondary sensors (an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 2 MP macro camera) are inferior as well.

Battery

The Xiaomi Mi 11 and the Realme GT 5G feature similar battery capacity, even though the Realme GT 5G is more compact. The former offers a 4600 mAh battery, while the latter has a 4500 mAh capacity. Realme GT 5G has a slightly smaller battery, but its display is more efficient since it is smaller and features a lower resolution. With the GT, you get faster charging with 65W power, but unlike the Xiaomi Mi 11, it lacks wireless charging. The Xiaomi Mi 11 supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Price

Realme GT 5G debuted in China with a starting price of about €359/$427. In order to get a unit of the Xiaomi Mi 11 in the Chinese market, you need about €519/$618, while it costs €799 in the global market. The Realme GT 5G is still not available in the global market, so we still do not know how much it will cost globally. Xiaomi Mi 11 is definitely a superior phone, but with the Realme GT 5G, you get a higher value for money. You just have to face three main compromises: you must say goodbye to a top-tier display, a high-end camera, and wireless charging.
