Huawei, which is facing lots of issues in the telecom and smartphone business, isn’t backing down. Instead, the company is now focusing on expanding its product lineup in other categories to reestablish itself.

Recently, it was revealed through a Chinese leaker (via ITHome) that Huawei is expected to launch a few products in May this year, including new semi in-ear earphones named FreeBuds 4, a new computing device, and a new children’s watch.

The company is also slated to launch the Huawei P50 series of flagship smartphones as well as the Huawei MatePad Pro 2. But it is rumored that the launch of these two products has been postponed and now they will be unveiled in June this year.

However, it is being said that both the devices won’t get launched at the same time. Huawei will first launch the P50 series of flagship smartphones and then the MatePad Pro 2 will be launched, which is expected to go on sale in September. Both of them will come running the company’s own HarmonyOS aka HongMong OS.

On the contrary, another report claims that the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 could get launched on April 20th later this month. This is the same day when Apple has scheduled its launch event where the new iPad Pro models are expected to debut.

The company’s expansion isn’t limited to hardware. Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business Software Department and Director of AI Department had revealed that the HarmonyOS will be available to the public in June and will also start rolling out the software to several smartphones. The company is aiming to have 300 million devices running the new HarmonyOS.

As for the launch in May, it is said that the FreeBuds 4 will be offered in three color options — White, Silver, and Red. In the PC department, the company is expected to launch transformative PC products. To know what exactly is up the company’s sleeves, we will have to wait for the launch event next month.
