The existence of the OnePlus plug & play webcam for smart TVs was made public by tipster Yogesh in partnership with MySmartPrice. The same team now brings details regarding the firmware update that is essential for this new upcoming accessory.

According to the leakster, the software build required to support the OnePlus plug & play webcam is ready. In fact, he has even shared three screenshots of this update. Out of these three, one of them shows the new ‘Camera’ app in the app drawer, another shows the main interface of this camera application, and the last image reveals the update changelog.

As per Yogesh, the screenshots he has shared are of the OnePlus TV Q series. However, going by the previous report, the OnePlus webcam will be compatible with all the OnePlus TV models sold in India except for the most affordable model – OnePlus TV 32Y1. Hence, a similar update should be rolling out to those TVs as well.

Anyway, as per the changelog, the new update that will be soon seeded out to users will not only bring the Camera app but also compatibility for OnePlus Watch controls and new OxygenPlay features like Sports Zone and content rating to name a couple.

Last but not least, Yogesh claims that this upcoming OnePlus plug & play webcam with a shutter, a microphone, and a USB Type-C port could launch in mid-May at the earliest.
