Samsung recently updated the Galaxy A40 to Android 11 OS. Now is the turn for the Galaxy M40 in India. The Galaxy A21s is also getting the One UI 3.1 update in the country.

Galaxy M40 featured

An OTA update is rolling out to the users of Galaxy M40(SM-M405F) in India. The update with firmware version M405FDDU2CUC6 brings the One UI (Core) 3.1 based on Android 11 to the device.

If you recall, the Galaxy M40 launched in India with Android 9 Pie out of the box. It later got the Android 10 update last year. The Android 11 marks the second major Android upgrade for the device.

Similar to the Galaxy M40, the Galaxy A21s (SM-A217F) also seems to be getting the One UI 3.1 update in India with the CUD4 firmware version. The update seems to pack in March 2021 security patch. This device launched in India last year with Android 10 OS out of the box.

The One UI 3.1 has revamped UI, Private Share, GPS location data removal on Images, more Lock screen widgets, Background Video Calling, improved stock apps, and more, over the One UI 3.0. It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A21s has already received the Android 11 update in South Korea.

Anyway, we can expect Android 11 features like one-time permissions, app permissions auto reset, chat bubbles, conversations section in the notification area on both devices. You can read over extensive coverage to know more about the same.

Additionally, the Galaxy M40 and Galaxy A21s are currently in Samsung’s list of devices that will get security updates every Quarter. We can expect this to continue at least for another year.
