Chinese smartphone maker iQOO made its debut in India last year with the launch of iQOO 3. A year after its entry into the country, the company has now announced two new devices, namely iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend Edition. The former is a rebranded iQOO Neo5 and the latter is slightly different than the original available in China.
iQOO 7 / iQOO 7 Legend Specifications and Features
Both the iQOO 7 and the iQOO 7 Legend flaunt a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (FHD+), 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The display on these phones supports 1300 nits peak brightness level, 6000000:1 contrast ratio, and HDR10+. The devices also sport a dedicated display chip called Intelligent Display Chip for real-time SDR to HDR conversion and MEMC.
Further, these smartphones are powered by two different chipsets coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The vanilla model features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and comes in two colors (Solid Ice Blue, Storm Black), whereas the Legend variant in association with BMW M Motorsport comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip and a unique colorway.
Talking about optics, the duo sport a triple camera setup on the back and a centered punch-hole 16MP selfie camera on the front. The rear camera setup on the iQOO 7 includes a 48MP Sony IMX598 primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP 120° ultra-wide unit with support for macro mode (2.5cm focus distance), and a 2MP monochrome sensor. On the other hand, the iQOO 7 Legend arrives with the same primary as well as the ultra-wide/macro camera, in addition to a 13MP tertiary sensor with a 2x telephoto lens.
On the connectivity front, the handsets support dual-SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1 (iQOO 7) / 5.2 (Legend), GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, NavIC – only in Legend), and NFC. They have all the essential sensors, such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and compass. But unfortunately, they lack a MicroSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, the phones do come with 4D vibration, dual-stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, and the largest vapor chamber cooling system (only iQOO 7 Legend).
Lastly, the smartphones run Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11.1 and are backed by a 4,400mAh (iQOO 7) / 4000mAh (iQOO 7 Legend) battery with support for 66W fast charging.
