The 100 million marks is indeed a milestone for the brand as the app only supports the PS4 and PS5. Thus, since the PS5 hasn’t seen so many users yet, most of the downloads would likely have come majorly from PS4 users. Sony started consistently offering huge discounts on PS4 games after the launch of the PS5. That may have attracted more users.
In case you don’t know, the Playstation app for Android affords users easy access to the Sony PlayStation store where games can be purchased. Since you don’t need to enter the store through your console but right from your smartphone, it gives users the leverage to swiftly attend to any available deal. The app is a vital one for fans of the Sony Playstation but some fans were left fuming with the latest redesign and subsequently, Sony was forced to reintroduce the old wishlist feature.
The Playstation app is available for free on the Play Store. There is equally an iOS version for iPhone users. Even though the iOS version has a higher rating than the Android version, there’s no information on the total installs for that version. Since the PlayStation console is a top-selling one in the U.S, we won’t be surprised if the downloads are also massive.
