Noted tipster Digital Chat Station has now confirmed that OnePlus is working on a smartphone with the Dimensity 1200 chipset. According to Indian tipster Mukul Sharma, the OnePlus Nord 2 or CE may be the Dimensity 1200 model and could possibly be launched next month.

The company is yet to provide details of its rollout plans for the year. Certainly, we’ll see some of these leaked models make their way into the market as the year progresses. But there have been some speculations about the Nord 2 as far a a few months back. It was earlier reported that the Nord 2 will be powered by a Dimensity 1200 SoC, with the launch date put at the second quarter of 2021.

OnePlus launched the Nord in India in July last year packing a mid-range Snapdragon 765G chipset. The more powerful Dimensity 1200 chipset will offer greater depth for the series and is viewed as a superb upgrade.

As a reminder, the OnePlus Nord features a 6.44-inch AMOLED dsplay with a 90Hz refresh rate. The premium mid-range model packs a 48MP quad camera setup and a 4,115mAh battery with Warp Charge 30W fast charging. While we can’t be certain about the leaked details of the upcoming model, we expect OnePlus to release the Nord’s successor with an impressive array of specs.
