Huawei announced the Mate 40 series of flagship phones back in October 2020. Since the Mate 40 Pro+ has been available in China in a single version that features 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Now, a lower version of the phone with 8 GB of RAM has landed in the home market.

The newly introduced 8 GB RAM edition of the Mate 40 Pro+ comes with 256 GB of storage. It has arrived with a pricing of 8,499 Yuan (~$1,335). It can be bought in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black colors. In comparison, the Mate 40 Pro+ with 12 GB of RAM is selling for 8,999 Yuan (~$1,414).

Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ specifications

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ has a 6.76-inch OLED panel with curved edges that delivers a resolution of 2772 x 1344 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The pill-shaped cutout on the screen houses a 13-megapixel primary selfie camera and a 3D ToF sensor.

The back panel of the device features a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 20-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto snapper, an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with OIS support, and a 3D ToF sensor. It runs on Android 11 OS, and ships without Google Mobile Services (GMS).

The Kirin 9000 drives the Mate 40 Pro+ and it is backed by a 4,400mAh battery. The phone carries support for 66W fast charging. For security, it features an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
