At its recent launch event, China-based tech giant Huawei has officially launched the latest version of its HarmonyOS, an operating system developed in-house. Along with that, the brand also launched a few devices.

However, the company has not announced any new smartphone at the event. But the company has started pre-sale for a few smartphones. The 4G variants of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Mate X2, Mate 40E, and Nova 8 Pro are now available for purchase in China.

Huawei 4G Smartphones HarmonyOS

All these smartphones come pre-installed with the latest version of HarmonyOS, which is also known as HongMeng OS in China. As noted, the devices are the 4G variant and the company has removed 5G connectivity support on these phones which runs HarmonyOS.

As for the configuration, most of the phone’s specifications remain the same as the original model, except for some changes like removing support for 5G. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro 4G and the Huawei Mate X2 4G come powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC and pack up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 40E 4G is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 990E chipset while the Huawei Nova 8 Pro 4G is powered by the Kirin 985 SoC. Both the phones are now up for pre-order in China.

Apart from these phones, Huawei has announced that more than 100 devices from the brand, including smartphones, tablets, and other smart devices, will be upgraded to HarmonyOS 2. The company claims that this will bring a brand new user experience to more than 200 million users.
