Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 soon, and when they arrive, they will be running the revamped Wear OS borne from the fusion of Wear OS and Samsung’s Tizen OS. Ahead of the launch, renders of the Active model have surfaced, giving us an early look.

Galaxy Watch Active 4

The Galaxy Watch Active 4 has a refreshed design as seen in the renders courtesy of OnLeaks and GizNext. The frame is wider and flatter and it appears the straps, which now flush with the lugs, are wider too.

The watch retains the two-button design of its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch Active 2, but the back and home buttons are now the same size and shape. The source says the frame will be made of aluminum and the watch will be available in 40mm and 44mm versions. Of course, the difference in sizes also means that apart from different screen sizes, they will also have different battery capacities. Also, while it wasn’t stated, there should be an LTE version whose frame should be made from a different material, most likely stainless steel.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Watch Active 4 in four color variants as seen above. Alongside black, there will also be green, silver, and gold. However, the shades may be different from what the renders portray.

The Galaxy Watch Active 4 will have a 5nm processor onboard powering it. We are not sure if the RAM and storage capacity will get a bump. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 launched with 1.5GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage.

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch Active 4 later this month at Mobile World Congress 2021. The Korean giant will not be attending in person but its virtual event is scheduled for June 28.
