Handset maker realme is still updating its devices to Android 11 when Android 12 is about to release. The brand has been rolling out beta builds since September 2020. However, only a few devices have received the realme UI 2.0 stable update so far. That said, the latest phone to enter the ‘Early Access’ (beta) program is realme 3 Pro.

Chinese smartphone maker realme launched the realme 3 Pro in the first half of 2019. The handset debuted with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

The phone was updated to Android 10-based realme UI last year. Now, the brand has opened realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) beta registrations.

In order to enroll in the program, users should be on firmware version RMX1851EX_11_C.17. If they are, then they can head over to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Trial Version > Apply Now and follow the on-screen instructions.

Selected applicants will the Android 11 beta build via OTA. Unsatisfied users can roll back to Android 10.  But it is worth noting that this process will wipe the phone’s internal storage and the unit cannot be enrolled in the ‘Early Access’ initiative again.

Android 11 (realme UI 2.0) will be the last major update for the realme 3 Pro. The smartphone may only get necessary security updates thereafter.
