Xiaomi is expected to launch a number of products in the second half of 2021 just like it did in the first half. Yesterday, we reported on the launch timeline for some of these devices. Today, we bring you information about yet another product.
According to Xiaomiui, Redmi, the sub-brand of Xiaomi will launch its second smartphone powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC in the near future. This handset could go official as Redmi K40 Ultra. It is said to compete against the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2. As per the source, the phone could be codenamed agate/amber.
Earlier today, we reported on a Redmi handset with a 120Hz display, 64MP primary camera, 5,000mAh battery, and 67W fast charging. This leak comes from Digital Chat Station. According to the tipster, the device will feature a MediaTek MT689x chipset. For those unaware, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 bears the model number MT6893.
Hence, we believe the two sources are talking about the same phone. But unfortunately, we don’t have enough details to prove this assumption of ours.
Anyway, like any other Xiaomi smartphone, we expect to learn more about this device before its official announcement via MIUI code, certifications, leakers, and also official teasers from the company itself.
