Samsung launched the Galaxy M01s in India in July 2020. It was one of the most affordable smartphones from the company last year. Exactly after a year from its launch, the phone has now finally started receiving the Android 11 update.

Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy M01s Android 11 update arrives as One UI Core 3.1. As per SamNext, the latest system update for the handset comes with firmware version M017FXXU2CUG1.

The new update is currently being rolled out in batches in India. Users in this region can head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check whether their unit has received it.

Even users in other regions could try checking for the new software build by following the above-mentioned method. Either way, the Android 11-based One UI Core 3.1 update should reach all the regional variants of Galaxy M01s in the coming days.

The inexpensive Galaxy M01s is neither eligible for three generations of Android updates nor entitled to receive at least four years of security updates. It’s also not sure whether the device will receive the next major One UI Core update based on Android 12.

But we could expect Samsung to seed maintenance security updates for at least one or two years. In other words, you get what you pay for.
