Last month, Samsung announced the Galaxy A22 5G as well as Galaxy A22 4G smartphones. Earlier this month, the 4G variant of the phone was silently launched in the Indian market for the price of ₹18,499 (~$255).

Today, the South Korean giant has officially confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G will be launched in India on 23rd July. While the company has not revealed its pricing details, a recent leak indicates that the device could cost around ₹19,999 (~$268) for the 6GB RAM model while the 8GB RAM model could be priced at ₹21,999 (~$295).

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD Infinity-V display with a 90Hz refresh rate support. Underneath, the phone comes powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz.

It comes packed with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. However, the company has not yet confirmed which memory configuration will be available in India. There’s a microSD card slot for expanding the storage capacity up to 1TB.

As for the camera department, the smartphone features a triple-camera setup on the back that consists of a 48-megapixel wide-angle primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The device features a fingerprint sensor that is embedded into the power button. Other features on the phone include Samsung Pay, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0,  USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the Samsung’s One UI 3.1 custom interface on top. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging support.
