Redmi announced the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition in April this year in China as the company’s first hardcore gaming phone. The handset has been available in the home market in colors like black, grey, silver, and yellow (Bruce Lee edition). Today, the company announced a new color scheme called Inverse Scale for the K40 Gaming Edition.

The Inverse Scale color variant of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes in a single configuration that offers 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. The other specs of the phone have remained unchanged.

This special edition phone is priced at 2,699 Yuan (~$417), which is 200 Yuan (~$31) costlier than the other color variants with 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. It will be available for purchase at 10 AM (local time) on July 29 in China.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that delivers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 1200 chipset powers the device with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It ships with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 OS.

The K40 Gaming Edition is backed by a 5,065mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. It has a front camera of 16-megapixel, and its rear shell has a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Lastly, it features a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
