The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, like many other gaming phones, has a multicolor LED. For the Redmi Gaming phone, the lights are built around the camera housing. The manufacturer is now rolling out an update that allows users to customize the lights.

The update is rolling out in China as MIUI 12.5.8.0.RKJCNXM and its 325MB in size. A translation of the changelog is reproduced below:

  • Added color customization to breathing light
  • Gaming triggers now have an accompanying light effect when playing a game

  • Fixed the issue with rounded corners for notifications
  • Fixed the issue with sliding down the notification bar

Settings

  • Fixed issue with enterprise-level encryption when adding a WLAN network that causes the domain name frame to be too narrow.

Redmi K40 Gaming Edition update log

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is a Dimensity 1200-powered smartphone with a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen. The display can display up to 1 billion colors, has HDR10+, and has a refresh rate of 120Hz.

There are three cameras on the back – a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It also has a 16MP front-facing camera, JBL-tuned stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 5065mAh battery, and support for 67W fast charging.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is sold as the POCO F3 GT outside China.
