The iQOO 8 series has finally gone official in China. The vanilla iQOO 8has a 6.56-inch flat OLED panel, whereas the Pro model features a Samsung E5 LTPO OLED panel with curved edges. The marvelous screen of the iQOO 8 Pro has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate.
To begin with, the iQOO 8 Pro has a 6.78-inch punch-hole screen that offers a screen-to-body ratio of 92.22 percent. The screen offers quad HD+ resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, 10-bit color depth, P3 color gamut, 8000000:1 contrast ratio, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
The iQOO 8 Pro is the first-ever iQOO phone that was sent for reviewing to DisplayMate. After conducting a series of tests, it awarded the iQOO 8 Pro’s screen an A+ rating. In its review, DisplayMate mentioned that the smartphone sets or matches 14 smartphone display performance records.
Some of the tests that yielded the highest results include absolute color accuracy, image contrast accuracy, intensity scale accuracy, full-screen brightness, peak display brightness, native color gamut, contrast ratio, contrast rating in ambient light, and visible screen resolution. Other tests revealed that the iQOO 8 Pro’s display has the smallest maximum color error and lowest screen reflectance.
DisplayMate’s review concludes by stating that the iQOO 8 Pro wins its Best Smartphone Display Award earning the highest ever Display Performance Grade of A+ and setting or matching 14 Smartphone Display Performance Records including 7 that are Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect.
The iQOO 8 Pro offers other specs like Snapdragon 888+, up to 12 GB of LPDR5 RAM, up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, OriginOS 1.0 UI-based Android 11, and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. It has a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX766) + 48-megapixel (ultrawide) + 16-megapixel (portrait) triple camera unit. For security, it features an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. The iQOO 8 Pro starts at 4,999 Yuan (~$770) in China.
