Xiaomi may be preparing for the European rollout of the Mi Band 6 NFC, going by details officially provided by the company that the device has been certified in Italy. The Mi Band 6 series was released back in March 2021 in China, and no foreign market has had the NFC version since then.
The two models in the Mi Band 6 series differ only in terms of NFC connectivity. The Mi Band series has often seen a staggered release of the higher model. This was the case with the Mi Smart Band 4 NFC which took about a year for it to be unveiled globally, after the release of the non-NFC version.
The Italian certification most probably indicates that the Mi Band 6 NFC will soon be found in European markets. It may well start with Italy, going by the certification announcement, but would obviously shift to other countries in the region.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 NFC is an elegant smart wearable device with an array of impressive features including various sensors for monitoring vital statistics. It is also possible that the Mi Band 6 NFC will support greater functionality than the Mi Smart Band 4 NFC, which also had support for Mastercard bank cards.
As per pricing, it is still unclear what the price of the Mi Band 6 NFC would be. However, it is expected to be higher than that of the Mi Band 6, which is sold for $44 on Amazon. We expect the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 NFC to be pricier than the $44 tag for the non-NFC version of the smart wearable.
