A new report has revealed that Apple is projected to ship about 60 million units of its popular tablet lineup this year. The information arrives a year after the company’s iPad shipments started picking up after the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to a DigiTimes report, the Cupertino based giant is expected to ship 60 million units of iPads in 2021. This news arrives as the company is gearing up for the launch of its 9th generation of iPads next month. Furthermore, the iPhone maker’s tablets are still seeing robust sales into 2021, which carries forward its momentum from last year. Back in 2020, the brand’s iPad sales had grown every quarter, rising a whopping 79 percent year on year (Via PhoneArena).
Now, upcoming ninth generation of iPads is expected to arrive with minor changes sometime next month. Interestingly, a part of the 60 million Apple tablets being shipped this year includes the 2021 iPad mini, which will apparently arrive with one of the biggest redesign the series has seen since its first launch. It is reported that the new iPad mini could feature a design similar to the iPad Pro, with thinner bezels and a brushed aluminum rear panel. Additionally, the Touch ID is also expected to be integrated into the power button.
