The user community of Xiaomi have been voicing their complaints regarding some of the newly launched smartphones and their proximity sensors. Now, it seems that the company is listening and has begun working on addressing these issues.
As per issues recently raised by a number of users, some newly launched smartphones from the Chinese tech giant. While the exact cause of these problems like the proximity sensor issue is unknown as of right now, but some users believe it might be an hardware issue. Notably, Xiaomi has also recently decided on ending its deal with Elliptic Labs, which was the company’s supplier for proximity sensors (Via GSMArena).
The brand has now entered into a deal with Minghao Sensing but unfortunately, it is unknown when the new sensors will arrive in the company’s smartphones. Xiaomi has also announced that it is working on fixing various issues that has been plaguing its newer handsets and would offer OTA updates to the affected models to re calibrate the sensors. Although, considering that this is a widespread issue, it could actually be a hardware level issue.
