Last week, a report indicated that Realme would be launching a new C-series smartphone in India later this month dubbed C25Y. Now, the company has confirmed the launch through a community post. The company also gave a first look at the Realme C25Y.

As per the community post, Realme C25Y will be launching on September 16 in India. The smartphone would be coming with an edge-to-edge display with a waterdrop notch housing the front camera. It would have a square camera module at the back consisting of the camera sensors, including a 50MP sensor. The fingerprint will also be present on the back panel of the smartphone.

The e-commerce website Flipkart has also put up a dedicated microsite teasing Realme’s upcoming budget smartphone. As per the Flipkart listing, the Realme C25Y will be coming with the octa-core Unisoc T610 chipset. Further, we can expect it to run Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11.

The Realme C25Y is rumoured to be a stripped-down version of the 
Realme C25, launched back in March. The Realme C25 comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD. It is powered by the Helio G70 chipset paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It runs Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 skin. The C25 boasts a 6000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It comes with a 48MP triple-camera setup and an 8MP front-facing camera. The C25 offers connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-SIM support, 4G, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging. The Realme C25 was launched at a starting price of Rs 9,999, and we expect the C25Y to be priced a little lower than the original C25 smartphone.
