Design
The Redmi 10 Prime is undoubtedly the most modern device and the most attractive in terms of design. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy M12 that comes with a waterdrop notch, the Redmi 10 Prime has a punch hole on the display for the front camera. It has narrower bezels around the display and thanks to those, it is a more compact device. The rear design reminds me of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, with a gradient color hue and a similar camera module. Both the phones have a side-mounted fingerprint reader for authentication and they are built with polycarbonate. Note that the Redmi 10 Prime has a dust proof and splash proof body, while Samsung Galaxy M12 does not. Do you agree with my opinion or do you think the Samsung Galaxy M12 has a more interesting design?
Display
The specifications of these displays are not so different. The Redmi 10 Prime and the Samsung Galaxy M12 have a display diagonal of 6.5 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and a 90 Hz refresh rate. However, the Samsung Galaxy M12 has a PLS panel that is an inferior panel in terms of image quality. Further, the Redmi 10 Prime has the Gorilla Glass 3 protection by Corning which makes the front glass sturdier. Last but not least, the Redmi 10 Prime has stereo speakers instead of a mono speaker, so the audio power is higher.
Hardware/Software
Do you need the most powerful and the fastest phone? Then grab a unit of the Redmi 10 Prime. The Mediatek Helio G88 mobile platform mounted on this device has better CPU and GPU performance, so it can provide you a faster user experience in normal activities and even in gaming sessions. Further, you can get more RAM with the Redmi 10 Prime: its memory configurations offer up to 6 GB of RAM, while Samsung Galaxy M12 provides a max of 4 GB. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy M12 has a processor built with a better production process (8 nm) which consumes a lower amount of energy. The Galaxy M12 also runs One UI Core, an enlightened version of the One UI for low-end devices which provides better performance.
Camera
Despite Samsung produces the best cameras, Redmi 10 Prime has a better camera department. The main sensor is way better with its 50 MP resolution and an f/1.8 focal aperture. Even the ultrawide camera is superior with a resolution of 8 MP. Last but not least, the phone provides a front camera with a brighter focal aperture (f/2.0).
Battery
Redmi 10 Prime and Samsung Galaxy M12 are very good battery phones, but if you want the best, then Redmi 10 Prime is again the winner. Despite the inferior production process of its SoC, the Redmi 10 Prime is able to provide a longer battery life because it has a bigger 6000 mAh battery. It even supports reverse charging, so you can use it as a power bank.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime vs Samsung Galaxy M12: Price
The starting price of the Redmi 10 Prime in the Indian market is Rs. 12,499 / $170, while the Samsung Galaxy M12 is priced at Rs. 11,499 / $156 in its base variant. Given that the Redmi is a way better phone, we recommend you to spend more and get it instead of the Galaxy M12, at least with the actual prices. You will get a stronger chipset, better cameras, and a bigger battery.
