Earlier today (14th September 2021), Honor officially announced that it would be hosting a new launch event later this month. On September 22, the company would hold the Magic3 series Imaging Technology conference in China.

While the Chinese tech giant has revealed the date of the conference, it has yet to reveal any finer details regarding the event. Although, in an official Weibo post (a Chinese microblogging website) the brand stated that its Magic3 series was quite well received, especially in regards to its camera capabilities. And now, the company is apparently looking to further improve on this aspect of the lineup. In the Weibo post’s caption, Honor mentioned the word “communicate” for the lenses and even shared an image poster as well. It did not offer any specifics but it does hint at a deeper level integration of software and hardware to offer an improved camera experience.

Furthermore, the company is also expected to unveil new camera features for the Magic3 series, which could include AI video based algorithms or film industry grade video processing. On the other hand, it could simply bring a notable software update that bumps the camera performance overall. Interestingly, the online post from Honor also mentioned the upcoming iPhone 13 series launch and stated that Apple is a notable contender in the domestic and global market.

For those unaware, the Magic3 series features Computational photography, which the brand claims can fully utilize the software and hardware capabilities within different chip platforms. CEO Zhao Ming even added in an interview that this allows for an unlimited possibilities for improvement. These improvements can be done through updates to hardware lens calculations and photographic algorithms. We don’t have a lot of information to go on at the moment, so stay tuned for more updates.
