Razer has launched the Huntsman V2 wired gaming keyboard and it offers some innovative features when compared with traditional gaming keyboards. The optical switches use an infra-red beam to activate the switch, unlike a traditional gaming keyboard. Of late, Razer has been on a cruise, with several products launched in quick succession. The new Razer Huntsman V2 gaming keyboard is an improvement of previous models together with the incorporation of the Razer linear optical switches. The optical switches provide faster actuation, higher polling rate (8KHz). The device also includes a silicon sound dampener to reduce the sound when a key bottom out. In addition, the switches and stabilizers are well lubricated to produce a seamless and smooth typing experience. Razer also claims that the new model, in line with previous reports, is capable of making 100 million keystrokes in its lifetime.

The new model the Razer Huntsman V2 is a name that has been used previously by Razer. The existing Razer Huntsman V2 Analog is a keyboard where the keys can detect changes in the level of pressure. The implication of the faster polling rate is that the device’s response time to key commands is very fast. Both the red and purple color variants of the Razer Huntsman V2 keyboard, although the higher polling rate is felt more in the red version than the purple clicky switches. The Razer Huntsman V2 adds a multifunctional dial and four media keys. The device has an aluminum top plate and wrist rets to offer greater stability and comfort.

The Razer Huntsman V2 is now available at $189.99. There is an additional price for several other accessories like the optical red switches which are priced at $10.
