Last month, Huawei confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Oct. 21 in Vienna, Austria. At that time, it was speculated that the company may announce the Huawei P50 series for the global markets. Huawei’s Romanian wing has confirmed that that the upcoming launch event will see the arrival of the new Nova series of smartphones. It appears that the company may unleash the rumored Nova 8i and Nova 9 phones through the upcoming event.

Huawei Nova series October 21 launch date

The Huawei Nova 8i is not an entirely new phone since it was announced in Malaysia in July. The handset has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 662 chipset, and a 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. It has a front camera of 16-megapixel, and its rear panel has a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad-camera unit.

It may arrive in a single version featuring 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in Europe. The handset is likely to be priced at 349 euros (~$404).

In September, Huawei unveiled the Huawei Nova 9 in China. The same device is expected to launch on Oct. 21 in Europe. The device features a 6.57-inch OLED FHD+ panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, a 32-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) quad-camera unit.

The Nova 9 is powered by the 4G version of the Snapdragon 778G. It offers other specs like a 4,300mAh battery, 66W fast charging, and an in-screen fingerprint reader. Its sole 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition is expected to release in Europe with a price tag of 549 euros (~$635).
