It has been almost a month since the last Apple launch event which was for the iPhone 13 series and new iPad models. Apple has now announced that it will be holding another hardware launch this month, specifically on October 18.

The Apple event is expected to be for the launch of new MacBook Pro models that will be powered by a new chipset dubbed the Apple M1X, a successor to the Apple Apple M1 announced last year.

According to Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain, the new MacBook Pro will use displays from LG Display and Sharp, the same suppliers for the iPad Pro. Based on this, he says we should expect similar technologies on the new computers such as oxide backplanes, miniLED backlight, and 120Hz refresh rate. Out of all these features, he specifically states that MiniLED is confirmed.

Alongside the new MacBooks, Apple is also expected to announce a new Mac Mini that will be powered by the same M1X chipset. This new model will be a higher-end version of the existing Apple M1-powered Mac Mini launched last year. It has also been reported that it will pack more ports.

Another product expected to launch on that day is the AirPods 3. Back in September, it was disclosed that the new earbuds are already in production with a planned release for October. The AirPods 3 are expected to have a design similar to that of the AirPods Pro. It should also have a new chipset, support for Apple Lossless Audio Codec, and better battery life compared to its predecessor.
