The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 smartphones are the latest Samsung innovations, with both models sporting foldable displays. The revolutionary smartphones are the first foldable models that are water-resistant due to their excellent design.
A seeming official Samsung video has revealed the rigorous process of testing the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 to establish their durability. The two smartphone models are primed to last a long time due to their decent durability rating. The video shows some of the tests the devices are subjected to before their release into the market.
According to Samsung in a press statement, both the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 can withstand 200,000 folds without being damaged. To put this humongous figure in proper perspective, if a user averages about 50 folds in a day, it will take about 10 years to accomplish 200,000 folds.
The video showed the smartphone undergoing immersion in water, environmental chamber testing, and the S Pen testing. The video shows that both smartphones will keep working even in extreme weather conditions. It is however also advised that the phones should not be left in salty seawater or swimming pools.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3 come with an impressive hinge system that allows the phones to be folded across the display without damage to internal components. Recently Samsung reported that it achieved the sale of one million units of the models within a short period in its home market of South Korea. The Galaxy Z Flip3 is the cheaper of the two models and accounted for 70% of the Korean sales as reported recently.
