iQOO is said to be working on the iQOO 9 series of smartphones. The Chinese manufacturer announced the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro smartphones in August. Hence, it is likely that the iQOO 9 lineup may debut after a couple of months. Probably, it will be unveiled first in China by January 2022. Ahead of the launch, the iQOO 9 series of smartphones are busy bagging some certifications.

The iQOO 9 Pro’s Indian variant with model number I2022 was spotted at the IMEI database earlier this month. Now, the vanilla iQOO 9 has appeared at the IMEI database with the V2171A model number. It is not the Indian model, but a variant that will be heading to China and some other countries.

At present, there is no information on the specs of the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. The iQOO 7 powered by the Snapdragon 888 chip was announced back in January this year. Hence, it is likely that the iQOO 9 series will be featuring the next-generation Snapdragon 8-series flagship chipset.

In related news, iQOO India is gearing up to launch the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend in India. With October month ending soon, it appears that the iQOO 8 duo will land in India in November. The iQOO 8 and 8 Legend will be rebranded versions of the iQOO 8 and 8 Pro.

The iQOO 8 has a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 888, and a 4,350mAh battery, whereas the 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED LTPO screen, Snapdragon 888 Plus, and a 4,500mAh battery. The vanilla model has a 50-megapixel (main) + 13-megapixel (ultrawide) + 13-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit, whereas the Pro model gets a 50-megapixel (main, with gimbal OIS) + 48-megapixel (ultrawide) + 16-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera system. Both phones offer common features like a 16-megapixel front camera and a 120W fast charging support.
