Gigaset Communications is a former arm of Siemens and it has launched its latest smartphone, the GS5 with a €299 price tag. The German smartphone company is not popular across several markets but has a pretty strong presence in parts of Europe.
Gigaset has a broad lineup of rugged, mid-range smartphones. The GS5 features an eye-catching curved design with flush rear cameras and a removable 4,500 mAh battery. The removable battery is something uncommon in most smartphones in recent times. The display also holds a waterdrop notch design.
The Gigaset GS5 has a 6.3-inch full HD+ waterdrop notch display, a 16MP selfie camera, and a 48MP main camera. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset, has 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The internal storage can be scaled up further with a microSD card.
There is an 8MP ultrawide snapper to complete the triple camera setup, together with an LED flash at the back. The GS5 comes in two colors: dark titanium grey and light purple.
The GS5 will come with Android 11 OS with a guaranteed update to Android 12 in due course. The Gigaset GS5 also has a fingerprint scanner. The dual SIM tray also houses the microSD slot, while the other openings are for the NFC and headphone jack.
