During the Redmi Note 11 series launch on October 28, Xiaomi went official with two other products, the Redmi Watch 2 and Redmi Buds 3 Lite. The Redmi Watch 2 is the second-generation model of the Redmi Watch which was launched last year. The new smartwatch went on its first sale Monday and the sales result are pretty impressive.redmi watch 2

According to the tech giant, the Redmi Watch 2 turned out to be highly sought after as the brand sold over 28,000 units of the watch valued at over RMB 10 million (around USD$1.56 million). What’s even more surprising is that this massive sale was concluded in just 2 hours.

To recall, the Redmi Watch 2 carries a retail price of 399 yuan($62) but is presently discounted to 349 yuan ($55). The decently priced smartwatch packs a 1.6-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 320 x 360 pixels. This is a far better upgrade over the 1.4-inch LCD screen on the previous model. The device equally features a display area increase of nearly 25% while the screen ratio jumps to 63.7%. The watch also has a better aesthetic appeal and also features up to 100 trendy watch dials.

The watch also features support for blood oxygen saturation measurement, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, sedentary reminder, stress monitoring, breathing exercise, menstrual cycle tracking, Xiao AI device controls, and more.

Xiaomi is yet to disclose when the Redmi Watch 2 will be up for grabs outside China but we expect an official launch in no distant time. Meanwhile, you can buy the smartwatch from Gizmochina’s online store Giztop without having to wait till the global launch.
