Xiaomi kicked off its Double 11 sale on 1st November and the company has revealed some impressive numbers. Within an hour of the commencement of the sale, the company managed to sell 500,000 units of the Redmi Note 11 series smartphones.
Now, the company has revealed that it managed to sell products worth more than 7 billion yuan (approximately $1.93 billion) on the first day of the Double 11 sale. With this, it has also become the leading company in terms of smartphone sales across all platforms.
Xiaomi has revealed that it sold products worth 2 billion yuan in just one minute and 45 seconds and the numbers doubled to 4 billion yuan in 52 minutes and 11 seconds. In less than nine hours, the company sold 5 billion yuan worth of products.
The numbers indicate significant growth for Xiaomi in terms of Double 11 sales when compared to last year. The company had managed to sell products worth 1 billion yuan in 20 minutes on the first day of Double 11 sale last year and the total for the whole day stood at 4 billion yuan.
Apart from selling 500,000 units of the Redmi Note 11 series within an hour, the company also managed to sell over 28,000 units of the Redmi Watch 2 worth 10 million yuan ($1.56 million) in just 2 hours.
In related news, Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com sold more than 190 million items in just four hours after it kicked off the Double 11 shopping festival campaign. On the other hand, Alibaba‘s Tmall said that in just one hour after the sale, more than 2,600 brands saw their sales surpass last year’s first day sales.
