Xiaomi has launched a new watch targeted at children and it is dubbed Mi Rabbit Children’s Learning Watch 5 Pro. The Mi Rabbit (Mi Bunny) brand has a rich array of products specifically designed with CHildren and their peculiar needs in mind. The product lineup includes successive models of Children’s smartwatches.
The Mi Rabbit Children’s Learning Watch 5 Pro is the latest lineup in the block and it features several upgrades over previous models. One of such features is a dual-camera setup, NFC support, 3D floor positioning, and others. The watch carries a decent price tag of 1,299 yuan (~$203) and is currently up for pre-order.
Elaborating on the features, the Mi Rabbit Children’s Learning Watch 5 Pro features a 1.78-inch retina screen and has a resolution of 448×368 pixels as well as a pixel density of 326ppi. The display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla glass with diamond-like coating technology providing strong scratch resistance. The product is designed with a square watch face with a waterdrop notch.
The product is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It also features support for a wide range of teaching and auxiliary apps that are kids-friendly. The product supports heart rate monitoring and offers a variety of sports modes such as skipping rope, roller skating, mountaineering, outdoor running, outdoor cycling, walking, and so on. There is a built-in PPG heart rate sensor that monitors continuously during movement and provides early warning when the heart rate is too high.
There is a front-facing 5-megapixel camera nested on the frame just above the strap. The front camera will allow the parent to see the surrounding environment of the child’s location. There is also a 13-megapixel main camera at the display for video calls. 
In terms of function, the watch supports Hand WeChat, QQ, voice chat, and video calling. In addition, parents can disable the WeChat and QQ features through the Mi Rabbit app. In terms of positioning, the watch supports positioning functions such as GPS, Beidou, and Base Station, and supports indoor positioning in large shopping malls, high-speed rail stations, and airports across China.
