OnePlus is known for the most memorable special edition phones around and the latest involves the OnePlus Nord 2. The brand is partnering with Bandai Namco to launch the OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition. It will feature its very own story depicting PAC-MAN’s journey into the OnePlus universe.

Oliver Zhang says that the special edition phone will deliver in two key areas (via Android Authority). Firstly, it will offer the “signature Fast and Smooth experience” that the company is known for. And secondly, it will be “refreshing, exciting, and memorable.”

Now, limited edition OnePlus phones have always had unique, standout designs. But the PAC-MAN variant will be the first to feature a “gamified” UI, proving that OnePlus has clearly put in a lot of effort in designing the device.

The gamified UI will feature OxygenOS icons based on retro video games, unique wallpapers and animations, a unique camera filter, and even a pre-installed PAC-MAN 256 game, among other things. Completing the game will unlock an array of exclusive PAC-MAN content.

Along with customized software, the OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition comes with several hardware design changes as well to stand out from the vanilla variant. There’s a “dual film color, material, and finish (CMF)” that integrates PAC-MAN elements into the body. The back of the phone also sports bits that glow in the dark.

Last but not least, you’ll also find hidden Easter eggs and hidden challenges throughout the interface. These are said to have been developed through a collaborative effort between OnePlus software teams in various countries.

Other than this, the OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition will be the same as the vanilla version with regard to specifications. There’s the 90Hz panel, the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip, and a 50MP primary camera, all that will be fed juice through a 4500mAh with support for 65W charging.
