nubia is working on the next iteration of its REDMAGIC series of gaming phones in the form of the REDMAGIC 7. The next-gen lineup is touted to offer two phones, namely the REDMAGIC 7 and REDMAGIC 7 Pro. There is no official word on the release date yet but one of the devices has cleared Bluetooth SIG certification, hinting at an imminent launch.

The REDMAGIC 7 has made an appearance on Bluetooth SIG (via MySmartPrice) with the model number NX679J, confirming its moniker. The listing doesn’t really mention much about the phone other than saying that it supports the latest Bluetooth 5.2 standard and 5G.

Apart from the above, there’s barely anything known about it since this is apparently the first time the phone has been spotted online. But since it’s now exposed, nubia should be teasing more details about it in the coming days.

Regardless, nubia is known to always stick with the latest and greatest from Qualcomm for its REDMAGIC series. After all, it’s a series targeted towards gamers. It is therefore highly likely that the REDMAGIC 7 will be equipped with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip (formerly touted to be Snapdragon 898). The chip is a flagship offering and will be manufactured using a 4nm process. It will reportedly be packing 1x Cortex-X2 @ 3.0GHz core + 3x 2.50GHz cores + 4x 1.79GHz cores and will be paired with the Adreno 780 GPU.

Moreover, judging from the current REDMAGIC 6S phone, the REDMAGIC 7 will likely be coming with an industry-leading 165Hz OLED panel and 16GB of RAM. The current model also features a triple-camera array with a 64MP primary and it’s quite possible that the REDMAGIC 7 will be sticking with a similar setup. 120W fast charging is also expected.
