Darwin D5, D7 & D14 e-scooters with up to 120km range unveiled in India

Due to a robust regulatory and incentive framework from both national and regional governments, there has been a boom in electric vehicles in India. Many electric vehicle manufacturers are pitching tents in India due to its huge potential customer base in the region of hundreds of millions. Darwin Group has now joined the fray with the launch of three electric scooters in India. They are the Darwin D5, D7, and D14 e-scooters with a driving range between 70km and 120km on a single charge.

Darwin has thus joined some of the big hitters in the Indian e-bike market like Ola and TVS, among others. The e-scooters are priced at Rs. 68,000 ($913) for the D5, Rs. 73,000 ($980) for the D7, and Rs. 77,000 ($1,033) for the D14. The great-looking Darwin e-scooters were designed for the younger population with their impressive and sharp styling. The design is bound to draw the younger segment of the population to the three e-scooters and added to the fanfare, the bikes were unveiled by World Amateur Boxing Champion MC Mary Kom.Darwin D5

Some of the features of the new Darwin e-scooters for India include keyless entry, regenerative braking, USB mobile charging port, hazard switch, and an appealing overall look. Darwin says the design philosophy behind its three new e-scooters in India is a goal to produce class-leading products that promote the green revolution. It says the Indian version of its e-scooters is at par with Japanese standards in addition to obtaining international quality certification with Quality Austria Central Asia.Darwin D5

Darwin Group will continue to scale up its investments in India ranging from research and development to, production of green vehicles and strategic collaborations. The Darwin D5, D7, and D14 will compete with some very successful electric two-wheelers in India for a share of the huge market.
