The upcoming Xiaomi 12 5G smartphone has been the subject of rumors lately. A few days back, Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station provided renders of the rear panel of the upcoming Xiaomi flagship, indicating that the device will have a three-camera system on the rear of the device. The primary camera will be a 50MP snapper.
Digital Chat Station has now added more details about the Xiaomi 12 5G. The tipster claims that Xiaomi will be using anti-glare (AG) glass coating on the rear camera patch to match with the back cover of the smartphone. This means that the camera bump does not stand out as it will be the same color as the back of the device.
The Xiaomi 12 5G is rumored to be released on December 28 (unconfirmed) while the other models in the lineup like the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come on board in January 2022. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra could come with a monster 200MP primary snapper. Global availability and pricing details, as well as confirmation of the launch date, are still expected from Xiaomi.
Xiaomi has continued to ride on the crest of the decline of Huawei to take a leading position as a global smartphone manufacturer. However, the company is yet to make inroads into the United States market and it is unlikely that the Xiaomi 12 lineup will herald the company’s entry into the US market.
