Earlier today (10th December 2021), Lenovo‘s General Manager, Chen Jin, had shared some new details regarding the newly launched Moto Edge X30‘s design. Now, the executive has also revealed the company’s smartphone shipment projection for Motorola.

Moto Edge X30

In another Weibo post (a Chinese microblogging website), the senior official stated that Motorola’s global smartphone shipments will cross 53 million units in this year. Chen stated that the Moto brand still is a major player in the market with a robust supply chain that enables it offer top flagship grade premium handsets that feature cutting edge technology. For those unaware, the company recently launched its Moto Edge X30, which was the first to feature Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

Initially, Xiaomi was expected to be the first in the market to launch a handset with this chip, but Motorola managed to take the lead this year. With its first release in China, Chen further added that the company wanted to make Moto devices that would appeal to the Chinese market. In other words, its raising its focus on expanding in the Asian country, especially with its newly launched Edge X30 and Edge S30 models.

Motorola Edge S30

For those unaware, the Edge X30 is the latest smartphone model from Motorola and offers top notch specs and features a 144Hz high refresh rate display, 50 megapixel triple camera lens, 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging, and more. While the Edge X30 houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Edge S30 sports the Snapdragon 888+ SoC and arrives at a relatively more affordable price tag than the former.
